Excited to announce that our team has been awarded an Ignition Grant from the Columbia Biomedical Engineering Accelerator (BiomedX) for our project: “Non-Invasive Ultrasound Technique for the Evaluation of Comprehensive Arterial Health”! I have been leading the development of this technology as part of my PhD research at the Ultrasound Elasticity Imaging Laboratory at Columbia University, directed by Dr. Elisa Konofagou. Our vision is to create a “3-in-1” solution for arterial health monitoring that delivers biomarkers for arterial stiffness, blood pressure, and blood flow through a single, ultrasound-based, non-invasive scan. As project-lead, I participated in CTV’s Lab-to-Market Bootcamp to develop a business strategy that transforms our research into a viable, market-ready product. From the Bootcamp, I gained experience in customer discovery, market assessment, developing regulatory and go-to-market strategies, navigating reimbursement pathways, and creating investor-ready materials. Our team was selected as one of nine finalists to participate in the 2025 BiomedX Pitch Day, where I presented our vision to a panel of expert judges. With the support of the Ignition Grant, we will advance our validation efforts to further demonstrate the potential of our technology to enhance clinical care. Thanks to Columbia BiomedX, our team (Youssef Elnabawi, Cagla Ozsoy, Dr. Ajay Gupta, M.D., M.S., and Elisa Konofagou) and everyone involved for their support. Looking forward to this next phase of development!
