Every resident at Parklands has a unique story to tell, and it is a privilege to care for people who have lived such rich and remarkable lives. Wakefield House resident Joyce Gordon recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Born in Edinburgh in 1926, Joyce came of age during the Second World War and was among the first generation of young women to pursue a career in the male-dominated world of banking, helping to break new ground for women in the workplace. Her century of life has also included running a family business, becoming a champion indoor bowler, travelling the world and a lifelong passion for dancing. Happy 100th birthday, Joyce.
