1st year me sab Google, Amazon, top package, top life ka dream leke aate hain. Aur honestly, aana bhi chahiye. There is nothing wrong with dreaming big. The problem starts later, when people drop their expectations from the market, and themselves too. Pehle sapna bada hota hai. Phir effort thoda dheela padta hai. Phir consistency toot jaati hai. Phir aata hai ki “chalo jo mil jaaye woh theek hai.” That is how dreams die. They die through adjustment. Through lowered standards. Through delayed effort. Through telling yourself that you will get serious later. Aaj ke market me pressure insane hai, that is true. Competition zyada hai, expectations zyada hain, aur skill bar har saal upar jaa raha hai. But you also have one thing that a lot of earlier batches did not have at this level: leverage. In a time where 6 months of serious learning with AI can put you 3 to 4 years ahead, you have a lot more power than you think. The same tools that are raising the bar are also giving you speed, access, and unfair learning advantages. So yes, pressure is real. But so is leverage. That is why I do not agree with the mindset of shrinking your dreams. Moving forward, exceptional and extraordinary might start looking normal. That is just where the market is headed. The skill bar will keep getting higher, and people who keep waiting for things to become easier will keep getting left behind. So, Dream big but… Make sure your work ethic is also big. Make sure your consistency is big. Make sure your ability to sit with discomfort, boredom, repetition, and pressure is big. Work so hard, you reach the N+1 of your dreams.
