Connecting people 🔌 . It's probably the most fulfilling part of having changed 5 countries, 4 companies and 24 years of professional experience. The network is now there. Implicit, intuitive, ready to connect as and when appropriate. And sometimes it works omni-directionally. Like when a couple of months ago Yiannis wrote a simple message 📜 on WhatsApp. "Pano you need to talk to that person. Just trust me. Do it" Really no more context than that. It was a Sunday at 11pm. Really before hitting the bed. 😴 I spent the next 20' researching the individual. And it was mind-blowing.. Yannis had hit the jackpot without him knowing. That we were looking at a person with the skills that I was reading in the profile then. I reached out over LinkedIn. Made the connection. Had the virtual coffee. And that person ended up talking with one of our hiring VP managers the week after. Sometimes life makes things happen. You just need to have created the network and keep the connections (and your mind) open.
