🚢 A simple overflow can sometimes reveal a much bigger challenge. Video link: https://lnkd.in/eTR4ZCAQ During my time serving as a Third Engineer onboard MT Chem Helen, what initially appeared to be an auxiliary boiler cascade tank overflow during UMS rounds led us to a critical finding — water leakage from the cylinder head of Auxiliary Engine #1. With a limited time window available, the entire engine department came together to tackle the challenge. From fault diagnosis and planning to dismantling, inspection, repair, reassembly, fresh lubricating oil replenishment, crankcase checks, and final testing — every step required technical knowledge, teamwork, and precise execution.
