We’ve had a bit of international attention in Palmy lately! 🙌 Mayor Grant Smith hosted five delegations from around the world, all keen to connect and see what’s happening here. We welcomed visitors from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the High Commission for Sri Lanka, the Embassy of Ireland, the Embassy of Timor-Leste, and the Embassy of Colombia. While they were here, they met with a few of our Elected Members, spent time with local experts, and got a closer look at what we’re doing in education, agritech, research and innovation. That included agritech chats with AgResearch exploring ways to build stronger cultural and city connections. There’s a lot of interest in working together, and in having students come and study right here in Palmy. But with Massey University - Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa, UCOL and some seriously clever businesses based here, it’s no surprise people are taking notice. 😉
