What an incredible day at the Good Life Good Death Expo in Mackay. It was a privilege for Palliative Care Queensland to facilitate this important event, bringing together community members, families, carers and industry professionals for a day of learning, connection and meaningful conversations about ageing, dying, death and grief. Throughout the expo, attendees explored advance care planning, gained a greater understanding of their legal rights and options, connected with local support services, and accessed valuable grief and family support resources designed to help them feel informed and empowered. Most importantly, we saw people having the conversations that matter: openly, honestly and with compassion. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their experiences, and helped make these important discussions feel a little more normal. Thank you also to Northern Queensland Primary Health Network for their commitment to supporting communities across the region and for creating a space where these important conversations can take place. Together, we are helping to build a community that is better informed, better prepared and more comfortable talking about what matters most.
