🚧 Important milestone for the PALLAS project: in May, the concrete pour of the -3 floor of the reactor building was successfully completed. This marks a significant step in the realization of the PALLAS reactor and the first structural element of a new nuclear facility being built in the Netherlands in more than 60 years. The -3 floor forms a key part of the underground reactor structure (-3 to -1) and provides the foundation for the further construction of the facility. The work was carried out in multiple concrete pours of 500–600 m³ each, using approximately 500 tonnes of reinforcement steel in total. The final pour required more than 13 hours of continuous execution. To meet the requirements for quality, durability and watertightness, the concrete was subject to a carefully controlled curing process with an integrated cooling system. This approach helps ensure the long-term reliability and robustness of the structure. This milestone reflects the expertise, collaboration and dedication of everyone involved in the project and provides a strong foundation for the next phase of construction.
