NBA and Legal Matters — What goes around comes back again. Once considered not a primary focus, Malik Beasley, along with former NBA player Edward Davis, and co-conspirators William Brown, Robert Gorodetsky, Ernesto Plascencia, and current NBA player agent Paolo Zamorano has been indicted on federal gambling charges by prosecutors for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The 9-year NBA veteran is accused of accepting bribes to "fix his performance in multiple games" while playing for the Milwaukee Bucks in order to facilitate fraudulent wagers. The indictment follows a year-long federal and NBA investigation. Because of the ongoing probe, Beasley sat out the entire 2025–26 NBA season. The Detroit Pistons had prepared a three-year, $42 million contract extension for him following his historic 2024–25 season, but they retracted the offer immediately upon notification of the investigation. Prior to the gambling probe freezing his NBA career, Beasley was recognized as one of the league's elite high-volume three-point shooters. During his standout 2024–25 season with Detroit, he set the Pistons' franchise record for three-pointers made in a single season. | 📷 Detroit Pistons c/o Malik Beasley
