✈️ Eight leading German and six leading Spanish #DefenceandAerospace companies have joined forces, signing parallel agreements to create #TeamGen6 to actively shape Europe's #FutureCombatAirSystem (#FCAS). 🇩🇪🏭🇪🇸 Airbus Defence and Space, AUTOFLUG GmbH, Diehl Defence, HENSOLDT, Liebherr Group, MBDA Deutschland, MTU Aero Engines, and Rohde & Schwarz representing #Germany, while Airbus Defence and Space, GMV, Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, Indra Group, ITP Aero, and Sener representing #Spain. 🇪🇺 After the recent news from the German and French governments announcing a realignment of the European Future Combat Air System (FCAS). While development of the overarching #SystemofSystems (#SoS) continues as planned, the integrated 6th-generation #FighterJet requires a new, agile industrial setup. With FCAS Phase 1B contracts ending this year, a seamless transition to new contracts is key to prevent a loss of #HighTech expertise and to secure the strategic autonomy of #Europe. 🗣️ Airbus remains committed to delivering next-generation combat capability for Europe, despite the collapse of the #NewGenerationFighter (#NGF) effort between #France, #Germany and #Spain, says Jean-Brice Dumont, head of Air Power at the company’s Airbus Defence and Space. “There is a need for a bit of a reshaping and reconsidering the reality of today,” Dumont commented at the ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace air show on 11 June, just two days after the NGF’s termination had been confirmed by German defence minister Boris Pistorius. https://lnkd.in/ekevK_E9
