πŸŽ–οΈ June 6, 1944. Never Forget. Eighty-two years ago today, young men β€” many still teenagers β€” stepped off landing craft into the cold waters of Normandy, knowing full well what lay ahead. They didn't hesitate. They ran toward the fire. They came from small towns and big cities, from farms and factories, from every corner of America and Allied nations around the world. They were sons, brothers, husbands, and fathers. And they gave everything β€” so that the rest of the world could be free. World War II was the defining test of a generation. Millions served. Hundreds of thousands never came home. And those who did return often carried wounds β€” seen and unseen β€” for the rest of their lives. As the years pass and the last of that generation leaves us, the responsibility to remember falls to us. To tell their stories. To speak their names. To teach our children what was risked and what was won. Freedom is not free. It never has been. To every man and woman who served in World War II β€” and to every family who sacrificed alongside them β€” we owe a debt that cannot be repaid, only honored. We remember. We are grateful. We will never forget. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ . . . #DDay #NeverForget #WorldWarII #Normandy #GreatestGeneration #HonorTheirSacrifice #June6th #LestWeForget
