🔔 Earlier today, the NSW ICAC – Independent Commission Against Corruption announced a public inquiry into allegations of undeclared political donations, proxy donations, and prohibited donors. A number of individuals and entities were named, in particular persons linked to the Liberal Party (NSW), Catholic Schools NSW, and prominent property and hospitality figures. ➡️ The investigation is not a standing start, with several of those named already having been the subject of a 2023 NSW parliamentary inquiry into branch stacking.  ➡️ What the investigation does make clear at this point is the involvement of #politicallyexposedpersons at Local and State level, their interactions with a range of associates over a 4 year period (2019 - 2023), a number of electoral, corruption and blackmail offences, and the alleged motives of the persons involved.    ⚠️ Whilst a lot of organisations undertake #KYC and #CDD, they simply aren’t aware of their customer connections.  #Adversemedia checks or enthusiastic operators might initiate a reactionary review of the persons and entities involved in isolation but these types of checks typically don't uncover associations.  ✅ P.I.R.L.A is different.
