To Prime Minister Keir Starmer, this is what impunity looks like. Look it in the eye. In one day, Israel killed nearly 300 people and injured another 1,165 in Lebanon through more than 100 strikes in 10 minutes, including on densely populated residential areas. It’s not only the responsibility of those committing war crimes, it’s just as much the silence and inaction of its ‘allies’ feeding its impunity that allows this horror to continue and expand to Lebanon and beyond. For weeks, Israel has been using its playbook rolled in Gaza in Lebanon. Systematic targeting of civilians, emergency responders, and aid workers. Massive and blanket forced displacement orders, targeting of civilian infrastructure, double tap strikes, all underscoring its methodology of calculated effort to maximize civilian terror and disruption. The threats by various Israeli officials on decimating entire areas and continuing to unlawfully occupy Lebanese land have been crystal clear. The UK together with international community have collectively failed to stop the genocide in Gaza. At this dark moment we demand that you stand up for international law, unequivocally call for an end to these atrocities, and challenge Israel’s impunity.
