#pOWeringProgress | This April, OW Ocean Winds joins WindEurope Annual Event in Madrid— also home to our global HQ —as a proud Content Partner at a decisive moment for #OffshoreWind in Europe. ⚡🌊 Why decisive? Because regulatory momentum is beginning to translate into clearer market signals across key European markets: 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: AR7 delivered a record ~8.4 GW of offshore wind capacity, backed by a £1.8bn budget—double the previous round. The inclusion of floating wind is a strategic milestone, strengthening domestic expertise and supply chains ahead of AR8. 🇫🇷 France: the PPE3 (2026–2035 Multiannual Energy Plan) sets clear 10-year offshore wind targets—providing the long-term visibility needed for industrial planning, port upgrades, grid coordination, and supply-chain scaling. 🇪🇸 Spain: the public consultation led by Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico marks a foundational step toward the country’s first offshore wind auction and the 3 GW target under the Plan Nacional Integrado de Energía y Clima. A credible auction calendar (2027–2030), strong “ability to deliver” criteria, and a bankable framework aligned with market realities will be essential. While challenges remain, we are beginning to see stronger alignment between policy direction and industrial planning across Europe.
