The Arsenal of Freedom is being rebuilt and it starts with fundamentally changing how the Department of War does business.   At the 2026 Pennsylvania Defense and Innovation Summit convened by U.S. Senator David McCormick, representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, we took a hard look at the future of our national security. During a fireside chat, Secretary Duffey and USW(R&E) Emil Michael outlined our America First acquisition strategy.   To ensure our Warfighters maintain the decisive edge, the Department is challenging industry to move faster than ever. We are executing on three fronts: 🔹 Expanding the defense industrial base. 🔹 Cutting regulatory barriers to accelerate innovation. 🔹 Transforming acquisition from the ground up.
