USW(A&S) Hon. Michael Duffey joined DLA Director Lt. Gen. Mark Simerly at the DLA Supply Chain Alliance Symposium and Exhibition to discuss how the Department is strengthening the defense industrial base and expanding the capacity needed to support the warfighter. A key priority is reducing unnecessary qualification and certification barriers that limit competition and slow innovation. By creating more opportunities for small businesses and new entrants, we can strengthen supply chain resilience, increase production capacity, and deliver capability faster. As Hon. Duffey emphasized, deterrence requires more than military strength—it requires an industrial base capable of replenishing and sustaining that strength when needed. Resilience abroad starts with strength at home. That means rebuilding American manufacturing, securing critical supply chains, and ensuring the defense industrial base can surge at speed and scale.
