Exploring Otsuka's Monuments - Thinking Differently: The Giant Tomato Tree 🍅🌳(Part 1 of 3)       Welcome to our brand new ‘Exploring Otsuka’s Monuments – Thinking Differently’ series where, over the coming weeks, we will explore three symbolic company monuments based at Otsuka’s Human Resource Development Institute in Tokushima, Japan, the birthplace of Otsuka. These monuments are designed to inspire all visitors to think beyond the conventional and encourage them to take on seemingly impossible challenges.     The first of these symbolic works is Otsuka’s Giant Tomato Tree, an extraordinary living sculpture that spans the entire ceiling of the main entrance hall.       When grown in soil, a tomato plant produces 50-60 fruits during its lifespan but when you use hydroponic cultivation instead you can unlock a tomato plant’s full potential and produce up to 10,000 tomatoes. The Giant Tomato Tree reminds us that by freeing ourselves from norms we can all unlock our true potential.       At Otsuka, this mindset is what fuels how we innovate, collaborate and turn ideas into action. By nurturing the creative potential of our people, we encourage them to push the boundaries of their knowledge and to persevere with their ideas, helping them to unlock their true potential.🙌 Stay tuned for the second post in this series, where we’ll introduce another of Otsuka’s symbolic monuments and the principles it embodies!
