The Biggest Risk in Space Science May Be the Way We Talk to Each Other A physician sees a clinical risk. An engineer sees a systems problem. A mission planner sees an operational constraint. They may be looking at the same challenge, but differences in language, priorities, and decision-making can make collaboration harder when the stakes are highest. Today, OSMED members will hear from Dan Buckland, MD, PhD, during our Research Lecture Series presentation, Addressing Communication Challenges Between Space Science Disciplines. Drawing on his experience in emergency medicine, mechanical engineering, human spaceflight risk, autonomy, and safety-critical systems, Dr. Buckland will explore how professionals across medicine, engineering, science, and operations can communicate more effectively and support safer human space exploration. The lecture begins today, July 14, at 2:00 PM ET. This is an OSMED members-only event. Those who become members today can access the event through the OSMED member community.
