Not all heroes wear capes. Some make sure every aircraft gets its fleet debut. ✈️ That’s exactly what our latest Oscars Lounge speaker Thomas Holin does! As Fleet Manager A320 at Lufthansa, Thomas showed us the phase-in process of aircraft and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at fleet management. Here are some key insights: 💡 Every launch needs a runway.  An aircraft doesn’t enter operation overnight. A smooth phase-in depends on timing, coordination, and attention to detail long before the final result becomes visible. It’s a reminder that behind-the-scenes work is what makes the final step feel effortless. 💡 Data makes the fleet fly smoothly.  With so many aircraft in a fleet, harmonizing processes is essential and every detail needs to be entered into the central management system. After all, smooth processes and meaningful results all start with information you can trust because it has been audited for accuracy. 💡 Registrations are anything but random.  A registration like D-AIOB may look simple, but each part has meaning: “D” for Germany, “A” for aircraft above 20 tonnes,. The following letters, in general, are random; at Lufthansa, they are used to identify the manufacturer and the sub fleet, for example “I” for Airbus or “B” for Boeing . D-AQUI, however, is a historical exception. Do you know why?    Huge thanks to Thomas for showing us the world behind the aircrafts we regularly make content about. Because it’s never just about capturing how they look, but understanding the story, details, and work that gets them ready for the skies. 🌇
