Based upon a survey of 830 engineering students and graduates in Pakistan, I learnt that engineers are excited about opportunities in the public sector. 28% graduates in the class of 2020 preferred it over private and development sector compared to only 16% in 2017. I have noticed that engineering graduates have secured the top positions in civil services exams in recent years; but what has brought this shift? Any insights?
