We’re thrilled to have been part of the Optilogic Supply Chain Summit in Amsterdam! A fantastic event filled with great conversations, fresh perspectives and inspiring talks on the future of supply chain planning. Our own Sander Vlot, VP AI & Decision Intelligence at ORTEC Data Science & Consulting, took the stage to host a session on one of the biggest challenges in supply chain today: closing the gap between design and execution. Network design, S&OP, inventory planning, logistics execution: these processes don’t exist in isolation. They’re deeply connected, and the success of one depends on the others. Yet in practice, they’re often planned separately, leading to decisions that look optimal in one silo but fall short across the chain. 𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁? In his session, Sander explored how Decision Intelligence goes beyond what traditional ERP and APS systems offer, how ORTEC and Optilogic are joining forces to deliver that next level of planning capability, and what role AI really plays in making this work at enterprise scale. Not just the promise, but the practical considerations that matter when you’re automating real supply chain decisions. The vision we’re working toward: a world where supply chain design and execution are connected in a continuous loop, powered by Machine Learning, Mathematical Optimization and Agentic AI working together.
