While we’re here at WindEurope 2026, let’s build on the success from the important steps taken at the North Sea Summit⚡ To strengthen European energy independence, we need a different energy system that doesn’t depend on energy imports. One that is rooted in renewables, with offshore wind as an important backbone. That’s why WindEurope is a welcomed opportunity to bring the industry together for important discussions on how we accelerate the build-out of renewables to improve energy security with affordable energy🔋 This spring, Ørsted reaches key construction milestones across the UK, Poland, and Germany – demonstrating real progress in expanding Europe’s renewable energy capacity. On Thursday, Alana Kühne, SVP and Head of Europe Development at Ørsted, will speak on the challenges we still face and how to address them at the ‘Offshore grid: the next steps’ session “The recent geopolitical developments have only highlighted the vulnerability of the European energy system, where 57% of consumption depends on imports. However, many Europeans tend to underestimate the opportunity for their country’s energy independence and the benefits of renewables and offshore wind in this context. At Ørsted, we’ll do our best to add facts to the conversations around system costs, reliability, and energy security,” says Alana Kühne. Join us in Hall 9 at the Ørsted stand 💙
