Building the event-led growth engine at ClickUp. From 3 events a quarter → 1 event a week.

International Women’s Day is usually a moment for me to pause. A chance to celebrate the women in my life, take stock of how far we’ve come on equality, and remind myself there’s still a long way to go for so many women who need us to use our voice. This year, it kind of passed me by. In my defence, I was busy soaking up the sun in San Diego before diving headfirst into a week of Intensity at ClickUp’s Sales Kick Off. My brain was more focused on spicy margaritas and event logistics than deep reflection, so I’ll allow it. But looking back, just a little later than planned, I realised something. That entire week, I was surrounded by seriously impressive women. And considering how male dominated tech still is, it feels almost criminal not to shout about them. So here’s a little recap of my San Diego trip, featuring some of the incredible women of ClickUp who support me daily and, quite frankly, are absolutely smashing it. I flew out a few days early with Laura, who joined ClickUp around the same time I did as an SDR. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into an incredible Account Executive. She genuinely cares about her customers and always shows up for her team. The kind of person you want in your corner. Then it was over to the Westin for final setup of ClickUp’s first in person Sales Kick Off in three years. Over 400 attendees, a million moving parts, and somehow Stephanie held it all together. Not casually either, but with a newborn at home after just returning from maternity leave. Actual superhero behaviour. Her attention to detail is on another level. I also caught up with Kaylyn, our event manager who joined from a completely different role only a few months ago. She’s taken her operational background and run with it, improving our processes and absolutely owning her events. No small feat. Of course, I got to spend time with our fearless leader Trish, in person which was a real highlight. She’s one of the most impactful leaders I’ve ever worked with. She leads with empathy, delivers consistently, and somehow still manages to smash even the most ambitious goals. Throughout the week, there were constant moments of recognition. Annalisa getting shoutouts for huge deals. Lydia getting the sweetest Crew Celebrate moment. Audrey being named SE of the year. Just win after win. And right before I headed to the airport, I met with Bridget to talk through improving our event follow up so every attendee gets a proper white glove experience. Only a couple of weeks in, and she and Jenny have already hit the ground running. And honestly, that’s just a snapshot. One week, a handful of women, and it still feels like I’m barely scratching the surface. The list of women at ClickUp who are absolutely killing it is far longer than my arm. Which makes you wonder, with all this talent, all this drive, all this impact…how is there still such an imbalance in tech? From where I’m standing, the women are bringing the heat 🔥
