We’re proud to share that Orbis and FedEx have received the “Best of the Best” Halo Award for our Delivering Sight Worldwide initiative. The award recognizes the impact of the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital—our fully accredited teaching hospital on board an aircraft—bringing advanced eye care and hands-on training to communities around the world. For more than 40 years, FedEx has helped make this work possible. From donating the aircraft itself to providing global logistics, aviation expertise, volunteer pilots, and ongoing aircraft maintenance, their support helps ensure Flying Eye Hospital projects have a huge impact. Speaking at the Halo Awards ceremony, Kara Foley, Senior Officer of Corporate Partnerships, shared: “The Flying Eye Hospital is where FedEx’s purpose—connecting people and possibilities—meets Orbis’s vision of a world where everyone can access the eye care they need to thrive.” She also reflected on the wider impact of eye care: “Restoring vision doesn’t just save sight. It opens doors—to learning, to work, and to fully participating in family and community life.” We’re grateful to Engage for Good for recognizing purpose-driven work and for shining a light on what’s possible when long-standing commitment and expertise come together to help deliver sight worldwide. And a big thank you to our teams, partners, volunteers, and to FedEx for helping make this work possible.
