For children and teenagers living with Type 1 diabetes, management is not just about knowing what to do. It’s about learning how to do it—on their own. And that’s not always easy. Because growing up with diabetes means navigating more than numbers. It means balancing independence, responsibility, and sometimes, the quiet pressure of feeling like you’re the only one managing it. But in some places, that experience changes. At Camp Surefire, no one is the only one. Everyone checks. Everyone learns. Everyone understands—without needing an explanation. And that matters more than we often realize. Because confidence doesn’t come only from instruction. It comes from seeing others like you— figuring it out, adjusting, and moving forward. That’s how independence begins. Not in isolation, but in shared experience. On May 3rd, Orange Biomed has brought M.A.P. Your Health to Rhode Island at Camp Surefire Open House, where we were grateful for the opportunity to connect with incredible children with T1D and their families. 🥰 Special thank you to Ali Fox for welcoming us and helping foster engagement across the Type 1 diabetes community. We’re honored to support a mission dedicated to enriching the lives of children, families, and young adults living with T1D through year-round programming and connection. #MAPYourHealth #Type1Diabetes #PeerSupport #CommunityHealth #DiabetesCamp #AdolescentHealth #Belonging #PatientExperience
