We are delighted that the Office of Public Works has been recognised at the 2026 RIAI Awards, with the Leeson Lane development receiving an RIAI Award. Leeson Lane was recognised for its sensitive balance of restoration of the existing building and the introduction of contemporary design in Dublin’s Georgian core. Selected as one of just 24 award winners from 175 entries, this achievement reflects the expertise, dedication and collaboration of everyone involved in delivering this landmark project. Leeson Lane brings together the careful restoration of a historic early twentieth-century building with the construction of a contemporary seven-storey office building, creating a sustainable and flexible workplace in the heart of Dublin. The development demonstrates how heritage conservation and modern design can work together to support the evolving needs of Government while enhancing the urban environment. The project provides a new city-centre home for the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport and colleagues from the Department of Finance Ireland, while promoting sustainable travel through its location close to public transport networks and Dublin’s parks. Congratulations to all involved in this award-winning project.
