We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Director of the National Botanic Gardens of Ireland with the Office of Public Works (OPW). The successful candidate will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, from scientists and horticulturists to guides and administrators, across Glasnevin, Kilmacurragh, and the JFK Arboretum. They will champion world-class standards in botanical research, conservation, education, interpretation, public engagement, and heritage management. Key responsibilities include: ➡️ Overseeing scientific research, plant collections, provenance trials, and connectivity with national and international collaborations ➡️ Directing public education, interpretation, lectures, and visitor engagement ➡️ Managing built assets, restoration projects, and site strategies ➡️ Ensuring compliance in health & safety, public procurement, and governance ➡️ Leading strategic innovation and cross-agency cooperation in biodiversity, climate adaptation, and heritage landscapes On-site accommodation is provided in Glasnevin, and frequent travel to Kilmacurragh and JFK Arboretum is required.
