Inclusion takes sustained effort. It requires an ongoing commitment to building a workplace where every one of our people feels they belong and can do their best work. We’re proud to share that Optus has retained Silver status in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) - recognising the meaningful progress we’ve made in advancing LGBTQIA+ inclusion. Some of our key achievements over the past year include: Scaling education and allyship Building organisation-wide LGBTQIA+ capability through targeted training for leaders and key teams, alongside practical sessions on pronouns, allyship and inclusive behaviours. We’ve also embedded inclusion into our HR systems by introducing pronoun fields, updating policies and benefits, and strengthening gender-affirming support and leave. Elevating visibility and belonging Championing moments that matter - such as Wear It Purple Day and Mardi Gras - to strengthen connection and foster a culture where our people feel seen, supported and able to thrive. We also launched the Sapphire Community and the Express Yourself podcast. A huge congratulations to everyone involved - especially the members of our LGBTQIA+ employee network, Express Yourself.
