Belgium is Europe's third cycling nation. So why are you still driving to work? SD Worx survey data, 2025: 18% of Belgian employees cycle to work as their main mode, and 41.3% cycle at least part of the way, against a 17.1% European average. That puts us behind the Netherlands and ahead of Germany and the UK. The behaviour has already shifted. What hasn't shifted is the default. Brussels traffic still frames the national conversation, and the company car is still the reflex. For most Belgian commutes the bike already wins on time, cost and predictability. The number that lags isn't adoption. It's awareness.
