A couple of weeks ago, a third-party strike caused major damage to part of our network across the east coast of Scotland - leaving tens of thousands of homes and businesses temporarily without phone and broadband. What followed was a rapid, large-scale response. Within hours, engineering teams were on the ground across Dundee, Perth & Kinross, Angus and Fife. Dozens of engineers worked through the evening and overnight - locating the damage, carrying out complex repairs and reconnecting cables. Thanks to their skill, experience and the equipment they have at their disposal, most customers were back up and running within hours - avoiding prolonged disruption for local communities. It’s a strong reminder of what resilience really looks like: having the capability, scale and expertise to respond quickly when things go wrong.
