Anthropic and OpenAI still have time to do the right thing. As OpenAI, Anthropic, and other massive AI companies move closer to public markets, investors have a rare window of influence. Once governance structures are locked in, changing them becomes far more difficult. The question is not whether AI needs oversight, but whether accountability will be built in from the start. Independent boards. Meaningful shareholder rights. Transparency around safety decisions.
