IXPs are expanding into markets without clear governance standards. Investors and policymakers are shaping the future without a shared playbook. Decisions about interconnection that will undoubtedly shape how the internet performs over the next decade are being made one project at a time, often with vendors filling gaps where neutral guidance should exist... For example: in the race to deploy digital infrastructure, governance and policy alignment are often deprioritized in favor of speed. Not because they don’t matter, but because the speed takes priority. Developers connect, they build, and they move on. But speed without a shared standard doesn’t create a resilient network.
