On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honour Chief Francis Pegahmagabow, Canada’s most decorated First Nations soldier. An Ojibwa from the Caribou clan, he was born on March 9, 1889 at what is now Shawanaga First Nation on Georgian Bay. Just 10 days after Canada entered the First World War, he enlisted with the 23rd Northern Pioneers. Explore his legacy and learn more about Indigenous history in Ontario: https://lnkd.in/dFuyhZUt
