Daniyal and Harris Elahi are recipients of the 2025 Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Young Heritage Leaders. During Sikh Heritage Month, we highlight their research on Muslim, Sikh and Hindu soldiers in the First World War, shared through a documentary film and a peer-reviewed article. Their work brings inclusive military history to schools and communities across Ontario.
