With data use continuing to increase, we are also continuing to upgrade our mobile network to keep offering our customers great connectivity. Between January and March, we upgraded 57 mobile sites across the country, including 29 new site builds. At the same time, 5G was expanded to 50 more locations, helping bring faster, more reliable connectivity to more communities across Aotearoa. These upgrades were delivered across the motu — from major urban centres like Auckland and Christchurch to regional towns and rural areas including Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and the West Coast. We’re also investing in smarter infrastructure — like self-healing tech that aim to detect and fix issues automatically, satellite services that have extended coverage into remote areas, and managed network services helping businesses stay reliably connected. The result? Better performance in busy places, improved connectivity in remote areas, and a more resilient network for our customers.
