🚌 The wheels of the hybrid buses go round and round thanks to STIB/MIVB and Willemen Bouw. 🏗️ 190 buses. 190 metres of building. One site by Willemen Bouw in Neder-Over-Heembeek, Brussels. This is where STIB-MIVB is quietly building the future of its public transport. ⚡The new Marly depot is not a project that is typically at the centre stage. It is simply not located where passersby would easily spot it. Nevertheless, it will hold everything that is needed for 190 hybrid buses to keep Brussels running. Charging stations, maintenance workshops, driver facilities, offices, underground parking, built under one roof, to BREEAM standards. 💡 We visited the site with Willemen Bouw, the general contractor on the project, and what struck us most was not the complexity of the build, impressive as it is. It was what the project represents. A public company making a long-term investment in cleaner urban mobility. Committing to the infrastructure before the transition is complete.
