#OMV is investing EUR 65 million in a new Innovation Hub at Schwechat, Austria, creating a state-of-the-art campus designed to accelerate breakthrough technologies. With construction already 55% complete and opening planned for 2027, this hub will bring together labs, pilot plants, and testing facilities under one roof. Alfred Stern, Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO of OMV: “The hub forms the foundation for successful innovation. With this infrastructure, we are creating the opportunity to consistently develop technologies along our value chain, from the lab and pilot plants to industrial scale, and to integrate them directly into OMV production facilities. We are paving the way for the technology of tomorrow and are clearly committed to Austria as a location for innovation. We are sending a clear signal that we are driving our transformation with structure, focus, and strategic vision.” H.E. Dr. Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Investments, one of the guests of honor, said: “Anyone who wants to preserve industrial value creation in Europe today must invest in innovation, energy, and technological sovereignty. This is exactly what the new OMV Innovation Hub in Schwechat stands for. It is a place where solutions for hydrogen, sustainable fuels, the circular economy, and CO₂ reduction are being developed – precisely the technologies that will determine the competitiveness of our business location. The strategic realignment of ÖBAG and its shareholdings clearly shows that state ownership is not merely about asset management, but a lever for resilience, security of supply, and the industrial future viability of Austria.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/dSAm8bfR
