Inventurdifferenzen sind nicht nur Diebstahl. Das ist die unbequeme Wahrheit. [English version below]   Laut der neuen EHI Retail Institute-Studie „Inventurdifferenzen 2026“ belaufen sich die Inventurdifferenzen im deutschen Einzelhandel im Jahr 2025 auf 5,11 Mrd. € (zu Verkaufspreisen bewertet).   Was dabei oft übersehen wird: Neben Diebstahl (Kundschaft, Mitarbeitende, Lieferanten/Servicekräfte) gibt es auch einen erheblichen Anteil durch organisatorische Ursachen, also Erfassungs-, Buchungs- und Bewertungsfehler. Laut Studie beläuft sich dieser Anteil auf 780 Mio. €.   Unsere Schlussfolgerung lautet: Um Inventurdifferenzen zu senken, muss zunächst sichergestellt werden, dass die Inventur als Messinstrument verlässlich ist: ➡️ standardisierte Abläufe ➡️ saubere Datenerfassung ➡️ Transparenz im Projektfortschritt ➡️ reproduzierbare Qualität über Filialnetze hinweg   Genau hier setzen wir von OMS Retail GmbH an. According to the new EHI Retail Institute's "Inventory Differences 2026" study, inventory shrinkage in the German retail sector reached €5.11 billion in 2025 (valued at retail prices). What is often overlooked: Besides theft (by customers, employees, suppliers and service providers), a significant share of inventory losses is caused by operational issues such as data capture errors, booking mistakes and valuation inaccuracies. According to the study, these process-related losses amount to €780 million.
