Approximately 50% of Australia’s offshore decommissioning activity sits off the North Carnarvon Basin, which makes Onslow the logical onshore solution. At EXA - Energy Exchange Australia last week, OMSB was part of the discussion on what needs to change to keep decommissioning campaigns moving. The message was clear: decommissioning needs to move like cargo, through ports efficiently and to the right onshore environment. Onslow is around 1,100km closer to the North Carnarvon Basin assets than Perth and already has dual‑port infrastructure, a Class IV waste facility, industrial land and a growing regional supply chain, with OMSB leading the work to deliver decommissioning at scale safely and efficiently. A recent Energy News Bulletin featuring OMSB’s CEO, Andre Veder, reinforces the same point: WA’s real opportunity is in aggregation and deconstruction capacity close to port.
