Kemi Badenoch, the Nigerian-born leader of Britain's Conservative Party, has urged the Labour government not to water down its proposal to double the wait for permanent residency from five to ten years. In a post on X, Badenoch argues that temporary work visas should not automatically lead to permanent settlement and that migrants who remain unemployed or in low-paid jobs should leave when their visas expire.
