Please welcome Dr. Alessandro (Ale) Agosti who officially joins Olon Ricerca Bioscience (ORB) as Senior Director-Scientific Operations. Ale has been employed at Olon SpA since September 5, 2011 and his prior role with Olon was the Process Safety & Scale-up Laboratory Manager, reporting to Giorgio Bertolini, Senior VP of R&D. He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Berne (Switzerland).    Ale brings more than 10 years of experience in API synthesis and scale-up and more specifically, has a deep knowledge of process development and scale-up of complex syntheses, safety techniques (reaction calorimetry, thermal stability via DSC and adiabatic calorimetry), kinetic software analysis AKTS, coordination of external process safety contractors as well as advanced knowledge of all the common analytical methods and their use in both process development and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment.   Ale will take an active role on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) at ORB and his day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing the work of the 4 departments: Analytical, Synthetic, Process Chemistry and PD&M. He will be defining strategies for the technical development of the laboratories, providing mentoring and guidance to the junior staff, as well as preparing CAPEX proposal for the continuous improvement of the laboratory activities.
