🚀 Meet the OLIWA Project's partners 🔬 Spotlight on our Partner: National Research Council (CNR) 🇮🇹 Founded in 1923, the National Research Council is Italy’s largest public research institution. With an extensively distributed network and seven thematic departments, CNR embraces a wide diversity of research fields across the national territory. OLIWA is proud to highlight the Department of Biology, Agriculture and Food Science (DiSBA) and its worldwide-renowned Institute of Sciences of Food Production (ISPA). CNR-ISPA is a true center of excellence in scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer, aimed at improving the safety and quality of agri-food products. Since 2012, ISPA has been at the forefront of novel food research, publishing over 50 papers specifically on the use of edible insects as feed for poultry, fish, piglets, and rabbits. Their expert staff is leading the charge in evaluating the food safety and protein allergenicity of these edible insects using advanced proteomic techniques, as well as studying the effect of food processing on the allergenic potential of insect proteins.
