More alliances on Open Data and Open Government between NGOs, Think Tanks, DataJournalists and Citizen Sience Community is needed! The data journalists have done a lot for german society in the course of Corona: begged data from authorities, "imported" out of PDFs and refined data by hand as if working in sweat-shops, and made it possible for the public to "fly by instruments"​ by data plots through out the pandemic. To a large extent, the colleagues have done the job of the public authorities. They should promote Open Data and Open Government in journalism, in the popular media, in the media houses, on a broad scale and much stronger. After all, it is their craft, business model and social function and duty of oversight activities and dialectic work that is undermined by a lack of #opendata and data capability in public institutions. They and their publishers should speak out much more loudly and unitedly in their own media and in a position paper together with NGOs about the challenges of their work, about their needs, and about open data and open government in general, also including freedom of information. Same with Citizen Science Community: Recently, EU-level Citizen Science stakeholders met to reflect on Citizen Science's impact on policy. I have long seen strong parallels in the essence and approaches of co-creation and transparency in Citizen Science and Open Government and have been advocating for more collaboration for many years.
