Some more Mid-Week Renewables News Roundup - 🌍 Technology firm Merus Power has been picked to deploy a 30-MW/80-MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) for Finnish water and electricity firm Neve Oy in Rovaniemi. nLighten, a European edge data centre platform backed by I Squared Capital, has signed an agreement with German energy company Uniper for the supply of renewable energy to all of its data centre locations in Germany. “By combining flexible power supply with guaranteed base load hydropower and hourly traceability, our 24/7 solution offers the accountability and security that are essential for today's modern digital infrastructure,” remarked Andreas Gemballa , CCO at UNIPER GLOBAL COMMODITIES SE. ContourGlobal, a UK-based IPP owned by private equity firm KKR , said on Tuesday it had raised EUR 675 million (USD 803.02m) through a corporate-level senior secured bond issue and expanded its revolving credit facility, strengthening liquidity and extending its debt maturity profile. CEO ANTONIO CAMMISECRA said the refinancing optimised the company’s capital structure, reduced its cost of capital and boosted available liquidity to support organic growth and acquisitions. Just days ago, the firm announced the acquisition of solar and battery storage assets to enter the Greek renewables market. Münch Energie has closed a long-term financing deal supporting the construction of two battery energy storage systems (BESS) totalling 100 MW/200 MWh in the state of Saxony-Anhalt, north-eastern Germany. “This transaction marks not only the first financing of our BESS cluster in the region, but also lays the foundation for the further expansion of our energy storage portfolio,” said Mario Münch , managing partner of Münch Energie. Congrats to all involved, some great updates within the industry....specifically battery energy storage! #BESS #Renewables #Energy #Finland #Germany #News
