It is inspiring to see the impactful work being undertaken through the PCPS Initiative. Safety and security, while closely related, are not synonymous, and too often, the human dimension of safety is overlooked in security interventions. What constitutes safety varies from one community to another, shaped by local realities, perceptions, and priorities. The sooner security strategies adopt tailored, people-centred safety lenses, the more effectively they can address the unique needs of communities and deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes.
