Last night, we had the privilege of honouring Trevor Manuel as he retired as Group Chairman of Old Mutual, bringing to a close a remarkable period of leadership that has helped shape the organisation we are today. Legacy is often spoken about in terms of milestones and achievements. Yet, as colleagues, partners and friends reflected on Trevor’s contribution, it became clear that his greatest impact lies in the culture he helped nurture, the standards he upheld, and the confidence he instilled in those entrusted to lead into the future. Throughout his tenure, Trevor reminded us that sustainable success is built on trust, accountability and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right. He challenged us to think beyond short-term outcomes and to remain focused on the role we play in creating positive futures for customers, communities and the continent we call home. As we look ahead, we do so from foundations that are stronger because of his stewardship. On behalf of Old Mutual, we extend our deepest gratitude to Trevor Manuel for his leadership, service and enduring contribution. His legacy will continue to be reflected not only in the progress we have made, but in the responsibility, we carry forward, to lead with purpose, act with integrity and create meaningful impact for generations to come.
