One thing that stood out from yesterday's sales class at Sales Enablement Academy (SEA) was realizing that sales is much bigger than simply selling a product. Before the session, I thought of sales as one career path. Now I understand it's an ecosystem with multiple specializations, each requiring different strengths and skills. Some of the career paths we explored include: • Business Development Representative (BDR) • Lead Generation & Pre-Sales • Sales Development • Sales Operations & Enablement • Customer Support • Account Management • Inbound Account Executive • Cold Calling & Appointment Setting • Sales-Adjacent Roles • Leadership & Sales Strategy • Industry-Specific Sales Careers We also discussed the qualities that make a successful salesperson: being dependable, determined, coachable, open to feedback, resilient in the face of rejection, and persistent. As someone transitioning into sales and customer support, I'm excited to keep learning, applying these lessons, and discovering where I can create the most value.
