🚈 OHLA is pleased to share that the Operations and Maintenance Facility in Glenridge, Maryland (USA) -a key component of the Purple Line Light Rail project- has achieved LEED Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. This recognition highlights leadership in energy-efficient and environmentally responsible design and confirms the facility meets high standards in energy performance, water conservation, and environmental protection. The facility will serve as the central hub for maintaining and operating the 28-vehicle fleet for the future 26-kilometer light rail line connecting Bethesda and New Carrollton. It incorporates sustainable construction practices, recycled materials, water-efficient systems, and advanced energy-saving solutions. The project is being designed and constructed by Maryland Transit Solutions, a joint venture between FlatironDragados USA and OHLA USA. This milestone reinforces the Purple Line project’s commitment to delivering sustainable, efficient, and environmentally responsible transportation infrastructure for the Washington metropolitan area.
