This collaboration between Vivobarefoot, Carbon and OECHSLER began with a simple idea: what if footwear could be designed around the individual, not the average? Starting from a precise scan of each foot, VivoBiome translates personal geometry into a digital design. Instead of adapting the foot to a standard product, the product is shaped around the person from the very beginning.  OECHSLER then brings this digital intent into physical reality. Using Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis™ technology and a one-material product approach, each sandal is produced as a single, coherent structure. Lightweight, durable and designed to follow natural movement, it is made for everyday use rather than the laboratory. What makes this project viable is not only the design logic, but the ability to produce it at scale. Through additive manufacturing and a connected production model, personalization becomes a real industrial capability rather than a concept.
