💉 🩺 Medical radioisotopes are essential for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular conditions. The OECD Nuclear Energy Agency and Australia's Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) co-organised the first Asia-Pacific Workshop on Medical Radioisotopes at UNSW on 6-7 July. This workshop brought together representatives of nuclear-related organisations, regulators, key opinion leaders, radiopharmacists, industry stakeholders and government policymakers from the region and beyond to foster dialogue on the current regional landscape of medical radioisotopes, including challenges securing supply chains and opportunities arising from the use of therapeutic radioisotopes such as Lu-177 and Ac-225.
